The benefits of drinking coffee before exercise
Whether you’re a fitness beginner or a long-time workout in the gym, one of the most effective drinks is likely to surprise you before you workout. Believe it or not, you won’t find it on the shelves of your local supplements store. In fact, you don’t even have to take it out of a glamorous label and mix it with water.
All you have to do is go to the cafe and get a glass of the world’s favorite drink – without cream, yogurt and sugar. Drinking a cup of coffee before exercise not only gives you an extra boost of energy, but there are a host of health benefits – all of which can help increase your gains in the gym.

Check out these five reasons it is time to add black coffee to your workouts:

fat loss

1 – Accelerate fat loss
Perhaps the biggest benefit of pre-workout coffee is the fat burning properties. When consumed before exercise, coffee can cause the use of fat cells as an energy source instead of glycogen. Also, high amounts of caffeine in black coffee will increase your metabolism, making you burn more calories throughout the day. Coffee before exercise enhances this effect. In addition, caffeine and other compounds in coffee act as an appetite suppressant, making you consume less food in general.

2- Increasing the ability of sports performance:
Several studies have shown a link between caffeine intake before exercise and increased athletic performance. A report published in sports medicine suggests that caffeine is a “powerful helper in power generation,” and states that athletes can “train harder and longer” after consuming caffeine.

Another study, published in the British Journal of Sports Science, found that people who drank coffee before jogging 1,500 meters on a treadmill finished running an average of 4.2 seconds less than the group that did not drink coffee.

3-Improved focus:
Along with high energy levels for more intense exercise, black coffee also provides increased mental focus, making your workouts more productive and effective.

4- Reduce muscle pain:
Researchers at the University of Illinois found that people who drank coffee before exercise suffered less muscle pain during exercise than did a non-caffeinated pre-workout drink.

Interest of it? You can complete more repetitions with higher resistance during weight training, as well as run faster and longer during cardio exercises.

5-Reduce your exposure to disease:
Another advantage of drinking coffee is that it helps protect your body from diseases. Coffee contains high amounts of antioxidants, which protect against free radical damage (unstable atoms can damage cells and cause disease and aging). According to a 2011 study published in the Journal of Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, coffee consumption is inversely related to diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and some forms of cancer.
